The 3rd Annual "Swing into Christmas" Benefit Concert for Rowan Helping Ministries will be at the Salisbury Civic Center on Saturday, December 1st from 7-10pm.
One of Rowan County's premiere ensembles, the Salisbury Swing Band will cover Classic Holiday tunes from 1920s - today. Under the direction of Catawba College's Dr. Stephen Etters and featuring award-winning vocalist, Laura Millspaugh, the 18-piece ensemble will have your toes tapping to the sounds of Gershwin, Sinatra, Count Basie, & more!
Admission is $5.00 at the door and 100% of the proceeds directly benefit Rowan Helping Ministries. (DOORS OPEN AT 6:30pm) There will also be a canned food drive raffle at the door with exciting local prizes including gift cards to City Tavern and Olive Garden!
Each canned item will earn you a raffle ticket; while those bringing 15+ cans will be entered into a Grand Prize Drawing. Light refreshments will be served.

What: Rowan Helping Ministries Food For Thought programs's first official fundraiser benefiting food-insecure children in Rowan County. The evening will include a special appearance by celebrity chefs, the Lee Bros. of Charleston, complete with a catered meal, entertainment, and a silent auction. Funds raised from this event will be used to expand our service to more children in the county so they can focus on their education and not have to wonder when their next meal will be.

Please join us on December 2nd, 2017 at 9AM for the annual Santa 5k Run/Walk For Charity at the Millbridge Ruritan Building. A 3.1 mile course that loops through and around the beautiful West Rowan area. For competitive and recreational runners- walkers welcomed! Santa will be making an appearance before he begins his trek across the globe to deliver presents to little boys and girls.
There will be a free pancake breakfast for runners after the race, complete with pancakes, sausage, orange juice, and coffee. Other attendees may eat with a donation to Rowan Helping Ministries. Proceeds raised from the race, as well as canned goods collected during the event, will be donated to Rowan Helping Ministries, also. This annual fundraiser returns to it roots for Rowan Helping Ministries’ 30th anniversary. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, live band, silent auction and casino games.

A simple soup meal reminds us of all who are hungry in our community. Participants receive pottery bowls made by school students and guests in the homeless shelter.
