Rowan Helping Ministries is a multi-program 501(C)(3) nonprofit human service organization providing shelter, food, clothing and financial assistance to nearly 400 men, women, and children each day.  Our current operating budget is $1,578,000.  Annually, 89% of all expenses go toward providing services.

Our mission is, through cooperative community action, to meet the basic human needs of individuals in Rowan County who are in crisis.

Feeding the hungry is a major part of 4 of 7 of our programs.  Each month, our Soup Kitchen is serving 3,775 lunches, and our Shelter is providing 1,350 breakfast and evening meals - a total of 5,135 meals.

Groceries are provided five days a week through our Crisis Assistance Network Food Pantry.  Each month 475 families are receiving 21,000 pounds of food on an average of 1,025 pounds each day.  At our new RHM-West satellite program in Mt. Ulla, groceries are available 3 times a month for those living in the western part of Rowan County.  In just three months, 6,500 pounds of groceries have helped 475 individuals.
