Program Services at Rowan Helping Ministries

Crisis Assistance Network

The Crisis Assistance Network assists persons and families in financial crises to seek workable solutions to their problems while giving spiritual, emotional, and material support.  The Crisis Assistance Office provides financial assistance, food, and clothing to Rowan County residents in need.
Financial Assistance
Rowan Helping Ministries has funds available to individuals and families who qualify to help prevent disruption in electrical, natural gas, and water service.  Funds are also available to help with eviction notices, medication, and mortgages up for foreclosures.
Food Pantry
The Food Pantry provides groceries to help those with limited financial resources feed their families during financial crisis'.
Clothing Center
The clothing center distributes seasonal donated clothing.

Life Coaching
Life Coaching is a new Program at Rowan Helping Ministries that is available to all clients that are interested.  In this program clients are given assistance in resolving difficult situations from their individual Life Coach.  As clients progress through this program they build self confidence in handling difficult situations more effectively.

Soup Kitchen
The Soup Kitchen provides a nutritious noon meal to the hungry without qualification.  Each Sunday, God's Table provides a meal plus a 30 minute spiritual service.

Overnight Shelter
The Overnight Shelter provides temporary overnight shelter and related services to those who have no alternative nighttime residence. Supportive services are available and an individual case management approach is taken.  Shelter residents receive supper and breakfast.  Rowan Helping Ministries is using the shelter facilities to allow homeless individuals not staying in the shelter to shower during the daytime in an effort to promote physical wellness to all individuals in the community.

New Tomorrows
New Tomorrows began as a program to teach Life Skills to our shelter guests who needed a place to go on week day mornings.  New Tomorrows is in partnership with Park Avenue United Methodist Church.  Classes have included: Stress Management, Creativity, Yoga, Gardening, Food Preparation, Anger Management, Resume Writing, Interviewing Skills, Dress Attire, and Bible Study.

Eagle's Nest
Eagle's Nest I is a transitional housing program currently limited to four single parent families with 1-2 small children.  Eagle's Nest II is the newest transitional housing complex. The six units are reserved for individuals who are homeless but working. The 18 month program is aimed at moving individuals and families from homelessness to self sufficiency and permanent housing.

RHM West
Members of the West Rowan community came to Rowan Helping Ministries to express their concern for people in need in the West Rowan area.  Rowan Helping Ministries and the West Rowan community have partnered together to provide many of the same services that Rowan Helping Ministries offers to citizens in need.
