Award-winning pianist Dr. Rob Robertson will return to The Meroney Theatre for an encore performance after selling out a concert in April.

On November 4 and 5, “Dr. Rob” will bring his unique style of piano performance back to the theater in a benefit concert for Rowan Helping Ministries.

Sponsored by Kluttz Piano Company, Owen and Elizabeth Norvell, and the Salisbury Emporium, the concert will feature a rich variety of music ranging from sacred, patriotic, ragtime, pop, and the music of Broadway, Disney, Elton John, the Eagles, and other well-known artists.

Dr. Rob is known for his unique and energetic performance style as he incorporates humor and audience interaction into his concerts. He will be up to some of his usual antics, such as playing the piano while lying down on the floor and a few other surprises for his students at Salisbury Academy, where he serves as music director.

Reviews of his performances have included comments such as: “Electrifying… masterful playing…a virtuoso exhibitionist!” (Statesville Record & Landmark); “A great musical inspiration for all…”(WSIC radio); “Dr. Rob should be called ‘Entertainer of the Year!’” (WBTV); and “Where does he find the energy!?” (WBTV).

Dr. Rob has performed across the country and in venues such as the North Carolina Governor’s Mansion and the Biltmore Estate. An award-winning pianist, he recently won the silver medal at the SilverArts state competition in Raleigh.

Tickets are $15 and may be obtained by credit card on the website of Rowan Helping Ministries at www.rowanhelpingministries.org or at the administrative offices for the agency at 226 N. Long Street in Salisbury. For more information, call 704-637-6838, ext. 100 or 103.
